Once they reached the car, Robert felt a strange mixture of relief and unease. At home, Lucy paced anxiously by the front door. “What happened? Are you okay?” she asked, rushing to hug them. Her husband gave a reassuring nod. “We’re fine, but it was chaotic.” Her eyes fell on Katrina’s hand, worry clouding her face.
“What’s that?” she asked, pointing to the blackened spot. “I’ll explain everything,” Robert said, guiding them inside. Though Lucy was anxious, she was relieved to have them back. At the kitchen table, the caring father began to recount the unsettling events. “It all started with strange shapes in the water,” he explained.
