Singer Nena, along with her husband and their four children, resides in a classic Art Nouveau villa in Hamburg-Rahlstedt. This district, located in the northeast of the Hanseatic city, is not a luxury suburb where celebrities live door to door; in fact, with a square meter price of 7 euros, it is even below average. However, Nena and her family have felt so at home here since 2003 that they, along with other parents, even founded their own anti-authoritarian school, where students sit on sofas instead of hard school benches.
