His surprising Wimbledon victory sparked a tennis craze in the 1980s that continues to this day. Unfortunately, the former world number one didn’t have the knack for a career after his active playing days and had to declare bankruptcy a few years ago. In 1997, he and his then-wife Barbara purchased the estate “Son Coll” in the northwest of the Balearic island, near the village of Artá, and had the villa renovated in a rustic finca style. Since their separation, the dream home with 7 bedrooms has been up for sale. Becker himself says he never got to enjoy the villa. Today, he lives in a rented apartment in London, and “Son Coll” is on the market for €12.6 million.
