The most notable performances in his career were in movies like “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven.” As of 2021, Hackman officially retired from his Hollywood career and spent more time resting at home. His final film role was in 2004’s “Welcome to Mooseport.” He has since focused on a new career as a novelist.
